The San Francisco International Pen Show is an exhibition of diverse products related to writing, including calligraphy and writing with fountain pens. You’ll find many beautiful inks and other fun artist supplies. They also hold a series of classes. It’s usually held at the end of August, usually at a hotel in San Francisco.

A handwritten and illuminated bible created in a scriptorium in Wales by Donald Jackson, internationally known calligrapher and Scribe to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Crown Office at the House of Lords.

The Graceful Envelope Contest started in 1995 as an informal display of calligraphy by the Smithsonian Institution’s National Postal Museum. The museum later turned it into an annual contest, and since 2001, the Washington Calligraphers Guild has been hosting the competition. They announce a new theme each year in the spring and the contest is open to all to enter. Try your hand at designing a terrific envelope!
